Has anybody travelled to Egypt and had a cruise followed by a short hotel stay in Cairo?

Just wandering how much money to take between two people and the best combination of travellers cheques and cash. Does anybody know a good travellers site I could check this out on? Would also like to know if you can use visa credit card if anyone knows? Thanks in advance
