Human matter absorbed into leather shoe?

I went out yesterday and I was in this basement where the toilet flooded and there was basically toilet water everywhere and it got absorbed into my leather flats. I really like my flats and bleaching them would ruin them, so what is a way I can get them disinfected and sanitized because they are still wet and they smell kinda bad. Thanks!
