Is there a motherboard defect with my laptop?

You could have a bad dc jack,ac adapter or a bad charging circuit/ power supply.Whatever it is you need to contact Compaq(HP) and get a RMA number with shipping instructions.Make sure you have all valuable information backed up also any personal information deleted.Ask if you need to ship it with the hard drive or if you remove it first will it void the warranty
