Why do Christians ask Atheists to disprove God?

Creationists asking atheists to disprove god is like them playing a game of football, deliberately kicking the ball into their own net, proceeding to argue with the referee and everyone else that they should get points because they scored a goal - reing the referee saying that despite it being an own-goal, it's still a "goal" ... and that because the atheists can't convince the creationists it wasn't a "goal" (despite the rules of the game having been laid out and agreed to before hand), then they should get the points usually allotted for the scoring of a goal.
