Electric guitar question?

I bought an elcetric guitar with a 10 amp speaker great buy for $199.99 I am a beginer but want to know why it doesn't scream like some do it just sounds like a accoustic guiter on a mic basically how do I make it scream like in November rain do I need a b guitar or do I need to tune it differently it just doesn't seem to riff at all yes I can't play much yet but I want the sound of electric guitars u normally hear.
